Year 4 - Walliams Class

Welcome to Walliams' class page!

Miss Jones

Hello and welcome to Walliams class! My name is Miss Jones and I teach Year 4. I have been a teacher at Linacre for 3 years and I love being part of the Linacre family! In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and friends, especially my new puppy, Minnie. My favourite things to do are: exploring new places, finding new and exciting hiking trails, trying new foods, visiting art galleries and reading, reading, reading!

I hope you will enjoy looking at our class page and all the exciting things we will be learning, so keep checking back.

Homework projects will be given out the first week of term to be completed over the 6 weeks. This half terms project is based on rivers! Please hand your projects in on Wednesday 15th December, your child can then present them to their class.

Please try to read each night with your child. It will really help them to progress in all curriculum areas. Your child will have a reading record for you to sign, please bring this into school daily, along with their reading book.

P.E will take place on a Thursday and Friday afternoon this half term - we are luck enough to be taking part in 'Tackles The Blues'. We will be swimming later in the year on a Wednesday afternoon. Please ensure that children have their P.E/Swimming kit on these days.
Our P.E kit includes the following:

  • White polo shirt
  • Navy blue shorts
  • Black pumps

During the colder months children can also wear the following:

  • Dark tracksuit bottoms
  • School jumper

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see me at the end of the day!

Our class author is David Walliams; we have just finished reading 'Demon Dentist' and have now started reading 'Bill's New Frock' by Anne Fine!

As part of Bootle Children's Literacy Festival, Year Four were lucky enough to take part in a drama workshop based around this year's theme of a 'Time Machine'. We were smiling and laughing the whole way through and loved letting our imaginations run wild!

Tuesday 2nd November 2021 - Green Sefton Science Trip

Year 4 had such a FANTASTIC time at North Park! We were able to plant bulbs (wild garlic), identify different deciduous and evergreen trees AND visit the trees we planted last year! Even through the rain and mud, we learnt so much, a big thank you to Green Sefton for inviting us.
