Miss Jones

Hello and welcome to Walliams class! My name is Miss Jones and I teach Year Four. I have been a teacher at Linacre for 3 years and I love being part of the Linacre family! In my spare time I enjoy being with my family and friends, especially my new puppy, Minnie. My favourite things to do are: exploring new places, finding new and exciting hiking trails, trying new foods, visiting art galleries and reading, reading, reading!

I hope you will enjoy looking at our class page and all the exciting things we will be learning, so keep checking back.

Homework

Homework projects will be given out the first week of term to be completed over the 6 weeks. This half terms project is based on The Vikings! Please hand your projects in on Wednesday 25th May 2022, your child can then present them to their class.

Reading

Please try to read each night with your child. It will really help them to progress in all curriculum areas. Your child will have a reading record for you to sign, please bring this into school daily, along with their reading book. Your child has also been given a Read Theory log-in, this will help them develop their comprehension skills at home, please encourage them to log-on 2 - 3 times a week.

P.E/Swimming

P.E will take place on a Thursday afternoon this half term - we are luck enough to be taking part in 'Tackling The Blues' which is helping us keep our bodies and minds healthy! Please ensure that children have their P.E/Swimming kit on these days.
Our P.E kit includes the following:

  • White polo shirt
  • Navy blue shorts
  • Black pumps

During the colder months children can also wear the following:

  • Dark tracksuit bottoms
  • School jumper

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to come and see me at the end of the day!

Our class author is David Walliams; we have just finished reading 'The Wizards of Once' by Cressida Cowell, and we are currently reading 'Billionaire Boy!'.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 2022 Multiplication Check

In June 2022, your child will be participating in a multiplication tables check; the purpose being to determine whether they can fluently recall their times tables up to 12, which is essential for future success in mathematics.

Please read the following document for further information, if you have any queries please don't hesitate to ask.
