Year 4 pupils were invited to Everton's training ground -Finch farm to take part in USM's 'Unlock The Potential' campaign. The event was led by Jack Mullineux from EiThC Tackling the Blues. Jack and his colleagues from Edgehill University have been working with the children, teaching them strategies for good mental & physical health and improving self-esteem and confidence.
The children then took part in a drawing session of the Everton players. During this session the children were surprised by a visit from from four Everton first team players, Fabian Delph, Seamus Coleman, Theo Walcott and Jonas Lossl, who came to sit for their portraits.
The players then tried their hand at their own drawings of the children before taking part in a Q&A session on topics including acceptance, self-esteem, diversity and respect.
A video of the visit can be viewed
The players then gave away their signed shirt to their portrait artist and signed autographs for all of the children. Not wanting anyone to miss out, Fabian Delph sent all of the other children a signed shirt after the Finch farm visit.
Thank you from everyone at Linacre.
