Following an earlier visit to Finch Farm, Everton Football Club were so impressed with Year 4 children that they invited them as their 'special guests' to Everton v Newcastle game on Tuesday 21st January 2020. In the Fan Zone the children were cheered by the Everton fans and were met by Everton Ladies first team players who were delighted to be photographed with them.
The children were then taken pitch side and welcomed by former player and Everton Ambassador Graham Stuart. More photographs were taken while both teams warmed up alongside them ahead of the game.
The children were then escorted to their seats and were further surprised when their player portraits came to life on the big screens around Goodison Park. Each child received a match day programme where again they were delighted to see their portraits featured in it.
All of the portraits can be viewed here via Twitter: click here
The portraits were also used across social media sites and featured in both local and national newspapers and on local TV. Everton & Linacre received literally thousands of messages supporting the project and praise for the children at Linacre. The news made it across the ocean all the way to Colombia and Indonesia.
Another day where Linacre children are working hard being the best that they can be.
A huge thank you to Everton and Tackling the Blues for allowing Linacre to be part of such an amazing project.
