Information about the Governors
The Governors are an important part of Linacre Primary School. The Governing Body’s membership is 10 volunteers from the local and wider community, plus the Headteacher and a member of staff.
The Governing Body holds 6 full governors’ meetings each year. Governors also take on key area(s) of responsibility. There are committees for Pay Review and Headteacher Performance Management.
The role of a Governor is strategic rather than operational. This means Governors do not get involved in the day to day running of the school. Instead, they support and challenge the school’s leadership team to drive school improvement.
The governing body has three key functions:
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction.
