Welcome to Year 4’s class page!
Spring 2 Topic - Passport to Europe
Children will get homework on Friday and have a week to complete it.
Please try to read each night with your child. It will really help them to progress in all curriculum areas.
P.E will take place on a Monday & Thursday afternoon.
Swimming will take place on a Tuesday morning.
Please ensure that children have their P.E/Swimming kit on these days.

We are currently reading the novel 'Half a Man' by Michael Morpurgo.
World Book Day 7.3.19
To celebrate books and our love of reading some of the class chose to dress up as their favourite fictional character! We then held a whole class circle time discussing our favourite books, authors and illustrators. We then ended the day with R and R.
Year 4 were very lucky to have a parent bring in and discuss their very own WWI artefacts. The children were mesmerised!
Anti-Bullying Week 13.09.2018
Year 4 produced some fantastic dramatical performances of disrespectful behaviour, and what you can do to stop it! Evie and Lincoln chose to write a collaborative rap, which the whole class loved!
Staying Safe Workshop 3.12.18
Year 4 were learning how to 'Stay Safe! Stay Street! Stay Sound!' with a brilliant workshop by VIBE. We learnt how to be more confident and assertive when making the right choices, pledging to stay aware!
Friday's Parent Reading Morning
A big thank you to all the parents who supported our parent reading morning last week! It's Year 4's favourite part of the week, everyone is welcome every Friday morning between 8.45am - 9.05am.
Math's Investigation 9.1.19
Year 4 have been working together to solve a two step money problem, SUPER team work everyone!
Chester Zoo Workshop 11.1.19
Today Year 4 started their first exciting workshop with Mike the Ranger from Chester Zoo. Part of the 'Sustainable Palm Oil Challenge' is to teach us all about the rainforests and it's inhabitants, we had lots of fun re-creating this in our classroom!

Year 4 have been creating arrays to help find factor pairs.
Science Week 31.1.19 - What happens to our food once inside our body?
Year 4 have being learning about the digestive system, today we constructed our own digestive systems to demonstrate what happens in our bodies between eating our food and going to the toilet... It got very messy!
Music - 6.1.19
Year 4 are learning to play brass instruments, the Trumpet, Trombone and Baritone. We are also learning how to read music!
Design and Technology Week 7.2.19 - Which foods are good for our teeth?
We tasted a variety of foods that are good for our teeth and gums. We developed our sensory vocabulary by describing each item by smell, taste, texture and feel.
Final Chester Zoo Workshop 27.2.19
After our brilliant trip to the zoo, Mike the Ranger came into Linacre to review what we have learnt during the Palm Oil Challenge. We then got the opportunity to work in groups to showcase our new understanding and display work in a whole school assembly.
